Come Dine with Me

Sunset at Forodhani Gardens-this is why I love Stone Town.  For the smell of seafood sizzling on grills. For the kids chasing each other while their burka-clad mothers chat and their hadith wearing fathers stroll in pairs, smoking and laughing.
I love Forodhani for the grey haired European tourists sitting on benches while their dreamy eyes wander to the sea that is a few paces from us. Couples walk hand in hand, groups of girlfriends giggle, the vendors leap from behind the tables heavy with food to make a sales pitch for their wares; beef and chicken kebabs, prawns on skewers, giant crabs laid out behind mountains of lobsters and plates of chips. There is also Kingfish, octopus, shark, tuna and mussels.

This is dinner time as you have never experienced. It’s dinner as you can only experience it in Stonetown, Zanzibar.

About leratomogoatlhe

I fell in love with traveling Africa on a four day trip to Accra in 2006. I started my journeys around the continent in 2008, when I went to Senegal, and around West Africa to launch my dream of knowing Africa through all my senses. I have been to 24 countries (and counting) over five years of stopping everything in my life to focus on one phenomenal continent. #AfricaRocks.
